NRG E-SPORT - WHO ARE THEY?

ENTERING MOBILE E-SPORT WITH GALAXY NRG
This project is an extension of the Samsung x NRG Mobile E-sport sponsorship
May 14th, 2024, Samsung collaborated with NRG e-sport, launching a new PUBG Mobile team named NRG Galaxy. The team is equipped with Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones for competitive play and training.
A SHIFT OF PREFERENCE
26% decrease in average playtime on PC and console games since 2021
2.7% from 50% growth of the PC and console market has slowed down from 2021 - 2026, compared to 2015 - 2021 e-sport viewers was at 418 million in 2019.

DESIGN OPPORTUNITIES
THE RULE -
DESIGN LIMITATION
Players must only compete on an eligible device and may not use an external device or attachment of any kind that modifies the game’s controls
(e.g. bluetooth controllers, wired controllers, mouse, keyboard etc.) without the express consent of IGE Staff.


KEY OBSERVATION
Athletes are seen displaying poor posture during tournaments, with no rules on how they should be seated, highlighting a lack of care for their well-being.

Athletes are each issued a galaxy ring for health monitoring. Their health data are recorded and will be used to achieve intelligent ergonomic support provided by the battle station

The battle station will capture adrenaline pumping moments in game and bring the battle field to the stadium through lighting effect
